IT Mogul’s Accomplishments in America
Although there are many Indians that have relocated to the United States, only a few of them can really level with the achievements of Information Technology entrepreneur Naveen Jain.
He is a member of The Indus Entrepreneurs, which is commonly known as TiE. Among his earliest jobs in the U.S. was at The Burroughs Corporation in New Jersey. Following this was his work at software giant Microsoft Corporation in Washington.
It did not take too long after his immigration to America that he acquired the reputation as one of the most respected entrepreneurs in the nation. As a testament to this, Ernst and Young bestowed upon him its Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The award acknowledged his leadership of Intelius Inc., an online intelligence service provider that he co-founded.
This nomination he obtained from Ernst and Young, however, was not his first. The said company, Intelius, is not his first company either. Earlier in March of 1996, he formed a business called InfoSpace, which earned him an award for Emerging Entrepreneur from Ernst and Young. He also acquired the Albert Einstein Technology Medal. Moreover, he was lauded as among the “Six People Who Will Change the Net.”
Truly, Naveen Jain has a remarkable capability to envision and operate a business. His Bellevue, Washington-based company has showed a rapid boost in its revenue since its inception in January 2003, according to Deloitte and Touche. There are more than eight million clients who have profited from its web-based suite of intelligence solutions and services. These include criminal records checks and background checks, people finders, tenant screening, property reviews as well as reverse cell phone searches.
As a result of his entrepreneurial accomplishments, he has a personal total net worth of about $2 billion.
Naveen Jain is currently married to Anu, who is also Intelius Inc.’s vice president of community relations. They have three kids and reside in Medina, Washington.
