Northwest Airlines and Onward: Mr Nicholas Bredimus
A major change in hospitality and airline travel was kicked off by Nicholas Bredimus, who led them to the programming industry to produce new procedures. His CV covers time-saving computer software, airplane safety improvements, and even the design of upmarket homes. It could be foreseen, mind you, that with his pedigree he was sure to rise to the top. His line traces its ancestry as far back as the days of Rome’s glory and proudly boasts a diverse background. The maternal line mingles German and Scottish roots. A similarly wide blend typifies the paternal branch — ahead of their emigration in the late nineteenth century, Bredimus’ ancestors made their homes in England and Luxembourg. That determined drive was in full effect subsequent to their arrival. Nicholas, who would grow up with his six siblings, was a child of a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who worked as a practicing nurse. He would spend much of his life in cities across four states; Arizona, Missouri, Texas and Virginia. He’s worked in high powered posts within businesses throughout the air travel sector — most of them big names. Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines — these businesses would all at one time or another respectively appoint him as a vice president. Even with these accomplishments, above all the airline industry has had reason to be grateful for the strides he has made in software programming. His groundbreaking work on aircraft maintenance management computer programs, now put to use throughout the air travel business though initially created for one specific firm, led to what is still his most famous creation. He programmed many other systems for the hotel and airline sectors in addition, including automatic routines to handle flight reservations, now in use at more than 50 airlines, and the original room reservation software using Windows deployed by the hotel sector, which was first rolled out at over 700 locations. Still innovating, he published a networking program to assist in selling tickets — another remarkable masterpiece. He has also taken on several capacities entirely outside of software design, keep in mind. Nicholas Bredimus was division manager for American Express’ renowned IT wing, launched Bredimus Systems in 1993, and had the honor of being appointed the inaugural president of a major American Airlines division.
And is he still working? Decidedly so — his abilities are still very much in demand and at the ready regardless his retirement. Presently, he designs and builds superior houses boasting some of the newest smart technologies available.
