Rosewood Pure Essential Oil

The Rosewood tree is a member of the laurel family. It is native to the rain forests in South America. With the destruction of the rain forests as we know them, this tree’s future is unknown down there. But, the Rosewood Tree is now grown on plantations for commercial use - using their wood and their oils.

The scent of the Rosewood is fresh, somewhat flowery, and woodsy.
Aromatherapists consider this to be calming and harmonizing for both the mood and the body. The oil is often used to provide gentle relief for menstrual pains or fatigued muscles. The oil also has an antibacterial property, which helps many skin conditions (USE DILUTED).

Therapeutic Effect of Rosewood Oil

Among the primary components are linalool and cineole. They are believed to give this oil its calming properties. Since the oil is antibacterial, it also very helpful in relieving skin irritations and blemishes. It is also effective in maintaining the skin’s oil balance and elasticity, thus it is used in many massage oils and toners.

Rosewood Oil helps with certain conditions

Rosewood Oil will help relieve headaches accompanied by nausea and linked to nervousness and tension in the muscles. Just diffuse the rosewood essential oil into the air or, you could place a drop of oil in each corner of a pillow, and enjoy the aroma as you are lying down.

To help with stretch marks, use a regular massage of the stomach, thighs, and hips with a cream or oil containing rosewood essential oil. This has been known to tighten the skin and possibly prevent stretch marks.

For clear and balanced skin, use the following prescription. After showering, massage your skin with rosewood essential oil diluted in a carrier oil, such as safflower oil, to soothe sensitive skin, help prevent wrinkles, and treat blemishes. To get optimum results, massage upward from the feet in circular motions, and ensure the skin is still wet. With the skin being slightly wet, or damp, it ensures you are keeping most of the moisture in the skin.

If you find you are very stressed, even agitated by the hectic pace of life, use rosewood and lavender pure essential oils to relax and soothe you. Use eight drops of rosewood and 5 drops of lavender and diffuse into the air.

Rosewood essential oil can be used for many other ailments. The versatility of the oil can be seen in the properties of the oil. For the emotional and mental ailments, rosewood has been know to help with calming, uplifting, worry, frigidity, and used for fatigue. Then, for the physical aspects, it has been know to help with acne, dermatitis, scars, and dry and sensitive inflamed skin.

Safety Cautions

It is seriously advised to not take rosewood pure essential oil internally. It is actually considered to be very poisonous. There are few other known dangers when the oil is used externally, or on the skin. When rosewood oil is diluted with any carrier oil, such as safflower oil, it rarely irritates the skin.

How to Properly Plan for Successful Weight Loss

Before taking actions in any problem we encounter, there should always be a plan first. That is, if we want to come up with positive results. You wouldn’t want to enter a battle without preparing how to defeat the enemy, would you? Attempting a task without planning is like building a house without a blueprint or playing against a basketball team without planed plays with your teammates. How could you expect a good outcome?

Weight loss is not at all different from the above mentioned plan-necessary situations. It also involves taking actions in proper ways that need to be perfectly planned in order to bring satisfying results. Here are the four key elements you will for making your weight loss plan a success.

Setting a Goal:

Okay, so your weight is somewhere around 20% above the considered normal for your height. You tend to eat more than 5 regular meals a day. You’re certain that you’re obese or at least overweight. Now, the question is, where do you want your weight to be?
Setting a goal is the first step in planning for weight loss. Know what you want to accomplish. This way, the road you are taking is clear. You can keep track of your journey and whether or not you are going along in the right direction. With a goal in mind, you are always motivated to finish a task, or in some cases, to start doing it.

Be Definite:

Setting a specific goal when planning for weight loss improves your chances of success. You just need to be clear and definite with what you want to happen. Vague aims such as ‘I’d like to be healthier’ or ‘I need to lose a few pounds’ tend to produce half-hearted efforts and poor results. Instead, state your goal distinctly: ‘I want to lose 1 to 2 pounds this week and every week’ or ‘I want to trim my waist line from 40″ down to 38″ by the end of the month’. If you need to, write it down and put it where you will always see and read it. This way, you’ll always be reminded of what you want and need to accomplish by the end of the month, the week or even the day.

Be Realistic:

In establishing a definite weight loss goal, make sure that it is possible to accomplish first. How can a goal like ‘I’ll lose 15 lbs. in just a week’ happen if all of the evidence presented by research suggests that you should only burn 1 to 2 lbs in a week? Goals need to be sensible so that they are within reason to be able to obtain. What happens when you set a goal and don’t reach it no matter how hard you tried because it wasn’t really achievable? You will only get depressed and disappointed which are two of the psychological causes of obesity. And the problem just becomes a vicious cycle with no end to it.

Strategizing:

After carefully defining a goal of what you want to achieve with your weight loss efforts and keeping it in mind, the next step is planning on how to accomplish it. Planning involves proper scheduling of activities to be done throughout the whole day for a certain period of time including exercises, meals, sleeping and waking. It comprises of the time these activities should be done, the duration and in the case of eating meals, the food to be consumed and what amounts. This way, inappropriate spur-of-the-moments decisions can be avoided.

A proper and effective weight loss plan consists of quality time for performing such activities. That is, allow enough time to meet the objectives correctly. For example, sleep should be scheduled to last for around 7 to 8 hours a day so that you’ll be able to get enough rest. Lack of sleep may cause improper eating habits the next day.Again, plans should be relatively realistic. Include only time and activities you know for yourself you can accomplish for a given period of time.

Also, as you finish preparing your weight loss plan, you might want to write it down since you can’t always remember when you’re supposed to do each part of the plan. Post it in a place where you can always see and read it to remind you what your plans are for the day. Try your best not to skip anything in your scheduled plan so as not to ruin the effectivness of it.

Fast Food Weight Loss - Is Eating At McDonald’s The New Path To Weight Loss?

Is eating at McDonald’s the new path to weight loss? Can fast
food burgers, fries and sodas fit into your diet and weight loss
program? For years, the answer has been a resounding NO. But
lately, Wendy’s, Burger King and many other fast food chains
have made changes to help consumers stick to a healthy diet.

Why have fast food companies finally started to pay attention to
healthier food choices? Simply stated, because it’s good for
business. Americans are trying everything from the newest weight
loss pill to Weight Watchers to lose their extra fat, spending
“…..more than $40 billion in 2004 on weight control pills, gym
memberships, diet plans and related foods, estimates Marketdata
Enterprises, which studies the weight loss industry” (Source:
cnn.com; 1-14-2005). Statistics from the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that 80 percent of
overweight individuals and almost 87 percent of obese
individuals are trying to lose or maintain their weight.

Any fast foods company that’s paying attention to public
sentiment and trends has made changes to make their menu more
palatable to the health and fitness enthusiast. McDonald’s, long
an industry leader, has made tremendous strides in this area
culminating in their recent announcement that all fast food
packaging will soon include nutritional information. But have
they gone far enough?

-> Fast Food = Fat Food:

No matter how many healthy new products are introduced onto the
fast food menu boards, the problem is that their core products
are high in fat and calories. Consider these typical meals from
McDonald’s:

* Big Mac, Large Fries, Large Coca-Cola, Hot Fudge Sundae =
1,730 calories, 99% of daily fat, 108% of daily saturated fat,
86% of daily carbohydrates

* Chicken Selects Breast Strips (5 pc), Large Fries, Large Coke,
McFlurry with M+M’s Candies (12 oz.) = 2,290 calories, 151% of
daily fat, 131% of daily saturated fat, 100% of daily
carbohydrates

* Bacon Ranch Salad/Crispy Chicken, Newman’s Ranch Dressing,
Large Coke, McFlurry Oreo (12 oz.) = 1,390 calories, 73% of
daily fat, 81% of daily saturated fat, 69% of daily carbohydrates

(Source: mcdonalds.com)

Some consumers, in an attempt to reduce the number of calories
and fat they’re eating, have opted for salads instead of
traditional burgers and fries. Unfortunately, some fast food
salads are almost as bad for us as a Big Mac. A California Cobb
salad with Newman’s Own Cobb Dressing from McDonald’s, for
example, boasts 490 calories and 42% of your daily fat. Compare
that to a Big Mac, which has 560 calories and 47% of your
recommended daily fat.

Although chastised in the movie ‘SuperSize Me’, McDonald’s isn’t
alone in offering high calories foods. The Original Whopper with
Cheese from Burger King will cost you 800 calories and 49 grams
of fat. Make that a Double Whopper with Cheese and you’ll
consume an incredible 1,060 calories and 69 grams of fat. The
Big Bacon Classic from Wendy’s is better with 580 calories and
29 grams of fat, while the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack
In The Box is the highest on the list with 1,094 calories and a
tremendous 78 grams of fat.

Clearly, high calorie fast food has become a problem. With
approximately 65% of Americans classified as overweight, people
are pointing fingers of blame. “In a lawsuit filed in 2002, two
Bronx teenagers accused McDonald’s of making them fat by serving
them highly processed food that affected their health. A judge
tossed out the case a year later, but an appeals court
reinstated part of the suit earlier this year, according to
published reports.” (Source: cnn.com; 10-20-2005).

McDonald’s isn’t the only chain being accused of making people
fat. “A New York City lawyer has filed suit against the four big
fast-food corporations, saying their fatty foods are responsible
for his client’s obesity and related health problems. Samuel
Hirsch filed his lawsuit Wednesday at a New York state court in
the Bronx, alleging that McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s and
KFC Corporation are irresponsible and deceptive in the posting
of their nutritional information, that they need to offer
healthier options on their menus, and that they create a de
facto addiction in their consumers” (Source: foxnews.com;
7-24-2002).

The fast food industry initially responded by arguing that
customers have a choice of what to order when going to a
restaurant. “It’s senseless, baseless and ridiculous,” National
Restaurant Association spokeswoman Katharine Kim said. “There
are choices in restaurants and people can make these choices,
and there’s a little personal responsibility as well.” (Source:
foxnews.com; 7-24-2002).

Our elected officials seem to agree with that assessment. “The
U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday that would
block lawsuits by people who blame fast-food chains for their
obesity. The ‘cheeseburger bill,’ as it has been dubbed in
Congress, stems from class-action litigation that accused
McDonald’s of causing obesity in children” (Source: cnn.com;
10-20-2005). This bill is not yet law, having passed the House
but not yet the Senate. In the last Congress a similar bill
passed the House, but the Senate never acted on it. About 20
states have laws similar to the ‘cheeseburger bill’.

-> Fast Food Makes A Change:

To their credit, McDonald’s and some others in the fast food
industry have made changes to their menu making it easier for us
to stick to our diet program or weight loss plan.

McDonald’s allows consumers to substitute Apple Dippers with
Caramel Dip for the french fries in their meal, cutting calories
from 350 to 100 and reducing fat from 16 grams all the way down
to 1 gram (comparison vs. medium fries). McDonald’s also allows
a no-cost substitution of 1% milk instead of a Coke, further
cutting caloric intake by 50 calories and boosting protein and
calcium (comparison vs. small Coke Classic).

Upon request, Burger King now provides Mott’s Strawberry
Flavored Applesauce in place of french fries which will save you
270 calories and 18 grams of fat (comparison vs. medium fries).

Wendy’s will honor customer requests to substitute mandarin
oranges for french fries, sparing you a belt-busting 360
calories and 21 grams of fat (comparison vs. medium fries).

Not only are the fast food giants allowing healthier
substitutions, but they have also added a selection of fairly
nutritious menu options. McDonald’s new Fruit & Walnut Salad has
only 310 calories and 13 grams of fat, while their Fruit &
Yogurt Parfait boasts 160 calories and 2 grams of fat. In some
markets Burger King is offering a Veggie Burger that has only
340 calories and 8 grams of fat when you order it without the
mayonnaise.

Now McDonald’s has given consumers looking for fast weight loss
another tool: easy to read and easy to find nutritional labels.
In the past, customers wanting to find nutrition facts on their
fast food choices either had to search in the restaurant for a
hard-to-find poster or go online. Now, in what is being called a
‘bold move’, McDonald’s is planning to put these nutritional
facts right where they’re easiest to find - on the product
wrapper itself. “McDonald’s Corp. customers will soon know that
the Big Mac they bought contains almost half their recommended
daily fat intake just by looking at the wrapper. In its latest
measure to fend off critics that blame the world’s largest
restaurant company for contributing to rising incidents of
obesity and other health problems, McDonald’s said it will start
printing nutritional information on the packaging of its food”
(Source: cnn.com; 10-26-2005).

McDonald’s is to be commended for their efforts to educate their
customers. This new informative label goes a long way towards
answering nutritional concerns. Expected to be in most stores by
the end of 2006, the new labels will include the amount of the
nutrient (calories, fat, protein, etc.) and the percentage of
the daily recommended intake, based on a 2,000 calorie diet.

-> Is It Enough?

The fast food industry has heard the public asking for healthier
options and more nutritional information, and they have
responded. But it is enough?

McDonald’s and others still sell high calorie and high fat
products, and we shouldn’t expect those to disappear anytime
soon. In our free market, as long as there is a demand there
will be someone with a supply. “Data from USDA’s food intake
surveys show that the food-away-from-home sector provided 32
percent of total food energy consumption in 1994-96, up from 18
percent in 1977-78. The data also suggest that, when eating out,
people either eat more or eat higher calorie foods-or both-and
that this tendency appears to be increasing” (Source: usda.gov).

Even with more information at their fingertips, there is some
doubt that consumers will actually use that information to make
healthier choices. Consider the limited impact from warning
labels on cigarettes and alcohol packaging; despite such dire
warnings, people still use these products. There is evidence
that Americans will continue to eat what they want, no matter
how much information they have available to them. “According to
a 2000 Roper Reports survey of a nationally representative
sample of 2,000 Americans 18 or older, the percentage of
Americans who say they are eating “pretty much whatever they
want” was at an all-time high of 70 percent in 2000, up from 58
percent in 1997″ (Source: usda.gov).

The question of ‘is it enough’ seems to be misdirected. Instead
of asking the fast food industry to do more to educate the
public and offer healthy options, perhaps what we as a country
should do is ask ourselves if the information we have right now
is enough. If we look for it, is there enough health, fitness
and nutritional information out there to help us make the right
dietary choices? As uncomfortable as it may be for some, the
answer to this question is probably yes.

-> The Overlooked Answer:

All too often, when participating in a discussion of diet and
weight control, we fail to mention the most obvious answer:
exercise! Consistent exercise can balance out and make up for
the occasional high calorie fast food meal, while at the same
time providing countless other health benefits.

Exercise is the only path to quick weight loss that virtually
every doctor in the world agrees upon. Exercise is safe,
effective, and brings many more benefits to our lives than
nutrition labels ever will alone. Exercise is fun, invigorating,
motivating and the single most powerful way to improve our life
and well-being.

Reaching your ideal weight via a healthy and active lifestyle
has been found to lower health risks and medical problems in 90
percent of overweight patients. In addition to the exercise
benefits listed above, fit people are eight times less likely to
die from cancer than the unfit, and 53 percent less likely to
die from other diseases. Fit people are also eight times less
likely to die from heart disease.

Yes, nutrition labels are important insofar as we actually use
them. But without a doubt, regular exercise is the most
important piece of the puzzle and the best way to achieve rapid
weight loss. Exercise is the safest way to achieve permanent fat
loss, and when combined with a sound diet and nutrition program
the body is turned into a virtual fat-burning furnace!

Consumers would be wise to use the new tools from the fast food
industry. Order the healthier items off the menu, pay attention
to the nutritional labels, and above all else remember to
participate in regular exercise.

Natural Therapies vs. Pharmaceutical Drugs: The Politics of Surviving Cancer

It is understandable that a medicinal drug having undergone double blind studies, several years of research, and millions of dollars spent on that research, should have a place of credibility. But what if the entire system was flawed to begin with, money and time wasted on treating a symptom rather than working to find a cure or better yet, prevention of the disease? Or what if the system was more than flawed but in many cases left the person in a less healthy state after having completed treatment using a pharmaceutical drug? With all of our knowledge about how the human body works, knowing its intolerance of unnatural elements, why are we, as medical patients, so accepting of the idea that we should be treating ourselves with synthetic drugs that are virtually poison to our body? To relieve one symptom we acquire two or three new symptoms, a new chronic condition we need to deal with and, of course, another prescription medication to fill each month.

Of course, those involved in the area of holistic medicine can never claim to prevent, cure, or treat a disease, even if that is the intended outcome and regardless of the numerous individuals finding themselves to be in a state of improved health. Only drug companies can make such claims. In fact, they own those words. Whether or not that right is deserved is irrelevant. It is worth noting that most natural supplements have endured centuries of product testing.

Because of my interest in finding a holistic approach to addressing cancer, I recently came to distribute a product called Natural Cellular Defense which is a patented liquid detoxification product made from zeolite technology, marketed by the company of Waiora. Initially it was being researched as a cancer drug, however, because it is all natural, it was instead introduced to the market as a supplement. Studies show Natural Cellular Defense has the ability to remove heavy metals and harmful toxins in a safe and effective manner as well as activate the p21 tumor suppressor gene in cancerous cells. It also happens to be 100% non-toxic and is completely safe for all ages. This natural health product alone could conceivably help alleviate the toxins and waste accumulating in the average person, responsible for many chronic diseases. But no matter how many people are helped by taking this natural supplement, we make no claims. It is not a drug.

For years I have been frustrated by the radical and harmful techniques employed when treating tumors in cancer patients and would like to see non-toxic methods given greater attention and legitimacy. There is also far too much time and effort placed on detection rather than prevention of the disease. Prevention is the key, not detection. Detection means the disease has had a chance to manifest itself and take hold. At the very least we should not be poisoning a body with toxic drugs once a diagnosis has been made.

Here is the list of potential side effects of chemotherapy and you be the judge as to whether this sounds like a viable treatment option: Low hemoglobin, low white blood cells, low platelets, infection, need for blood transfusion, need for platelet transfusion, pain, nausea, vomiting, hair loss, skin injury, heart damage, lung damage, liver damage, kidney damage, loss of hearing, small stature, hormonal problems such as low growth hormone or low thyroid hormone, infertility, second cancer, intellectual decline, worsening of neurological symptoms, ineffectiveness, and death.

To understand better the hypocrisy of cancer treatment, consider the following: One of the largest and most prestigious cancer treatment centers in the world, The McGill Cancer Center in Canada, did a study of oncologists to determine how they would respond to a diagnosis of cancer. On the confidential questionnaire, 58 out of 64 doctors said that all chemotherapy programs were unacceptable to them and their family members. The overwhelming reason for this decision was that they believe the drugs are ineffective and have an unacceptable degree of toxicity. Do you imagine these same doctors are recommending chemotherapy treatment to shrink their patient’s tumors? Yes, indeed they are, as they must if they wish to follow standard protocol. There are alternative, non-toxic treatments available to cancer patients, but you must work to find these natural treatments on your own.

Of course, you may find a natural treatment you would like to pursue only to discover the medical profession standing in the way of implementing your treatment plan. A few years ago, I came across a story which is truly heart breaking. It involves a two year old boy named Alexander who was diagnosed with the most common pediatric brain tumor, medulloblastoma. After substantial consideration and thoughtful research by the parents following Alexander’s two brain surgeries, the parents chose for their son a non-toxic therapy, proven to be highly effective in treatment of brain cancer. However, the FDA denied the parents access to this treatment and the parents were informed by their oncologists that without their state of the art chemotherapy, the cancer would soon return. Alexander completed his third month of chemotherapy in December 1998 and died on January 31, 1999. He was just two and a half years old.

For you see, the state-of-the-art chemotherapy protocol recommended by the oncologists had already proven itself to be ineffective in pediatric brain tumors back four years earlier.

The exact same chemotherapy drugs provided to Alexander in 1998 had been administered to children of the same age with the same brain tumor as Alexander with similar results. Of course, the parents were never informed about the failure of this therapy. You should note that when the parents hesitated to bring Alexander in for chemotherapy the oncologists were already preparing to take control by court order. The parents wanted to use a non-toxic treatment alternative, proven to be effective, and yet were forced to use an ineffectual, toxic treatment.

I am afraid these parents may have been harmed twice over by the medical establishment for there is also the possibility that the brain tumor was caused by vaccinations containing Thimerosal, commonly used in vaccinations at that time and responsible for numerous cases of neurological disorders in children, such as autism, ADD/HD, and brain tumors.

You can learn more about Alexander’s story by visiting
http://www.ouralexander.org/index.htm.

Just how dangerous is chemotherapy?

The following excerpt can be found on the University of Iowa’s website. Their protocol for dealing with “chemo spills” conjures images of a rather frightening scene of contamination because it is, in fact, a serious state of contamination. It reads as follows:

Patients and caregivers shall be taught safe, proper, handling and disposal of waste generated during continuous infusions of chemotherapy.

The following procedures should be implemented immediately if a chemotherapy leak or spill should occur:

1. Put on a pair of disposable latex gloves.

2. If chemo has spilled on clothing, remove immediately and take a shower, scrubbing the exposed skin with soap and water. Watch for redness, blistering, or a burning sensation. Contact your nurse to report the spill. She will give you further instructions if necessary.

3. Remove any and all sharp objects, placing them into your sharps container or any can with a lid such as a coffee can.

4. Soak up the spill with an absorbent disposable material, such as paper towels.

5. Disinfect the spill area with soap and water or a household cleaner such as window cleaner, 409, alcohol, bleach, or liquid carpet cleaner.

6. Put the absorbent material and the gloves into a chemotherapy waste container or garbage bag and carefully mark it. It will be picked up later by the pharmacy personnel.

7. If a spill occurs on a patient’s or caregiver’s clothing or sheets, these articles should be washed separately from regular laundry in hot water.

8. If a spill occurs on unprotected furniture, the area should be scrubbed with soap and water and rinsed with clean water while wearing protective chemo safety gloves.

9. Patients and caregivers should be taught to use care when handling vomitus or excretions of the patient for 48 hours post treatment and to use good handwashing technique.

Now imagine the “spill” they are referring to as chemicals that an individual with cancer will be taking into their body because that is indeed the case.

By no means do I wish to demonize the medical profession as a whole because there are many quality doctors and instances when prescription drugs may be necessary, however, I encourage caution when taking advice that will affect your health. It is important to consider the possibility that sometimes the medical establishment may be leading us down the wrong path. Natural therapies may not be able to claim to cure or treat disease but sometimes you need to just take a step back and perform your own due diligence, take a look at the results and come to your own conclusion.

Vibrant Health & Weight Loss with Omega-3 Fats

For years the newest “fad” was to eliminate most fat out of your diet. This was to assure you of weight loss and better health. But take a look around you. Does it look as if Americans are slimming down? Not hardly. In fact, it has been documented by many who are interested in health that our society is getting fatter and fatter, even amongst our children. According to a recent study, 61 % of women are overweight and 71% of men are also overweight! So how can this be if the supposed culprit was eliminated?

Well guess what! Removing fat from the diet has created more problems since that isn’t what was necessary to eliminate for weight loss. In addition, when most people consume fat they ingest unhealthy fat. The typical bottled oils available on a grocery store shelf that are most frequently purchased - oils like corn, canola, cottonseed, peanut, or any of the many kinds found in our normal grocery store shelves - are highly toxic to your body. The reason is they have been heated to high temperatures in order to preserve them for months on a grocery store shelf. Once heated to such high temperatures the oil becomes carcinogenic, or cancer-causing. It has turned into a trans fatty acid, which is very detrimental to your health; it has then become high in omega-6 fat which your body does not need in such large amounts and becomes toxic when too much is ingested. These unhealthy fats contribute immensely to all those extra pounds. And the same unhealthy oils mentioned above are what fast food businesses use, as does processed food.

Let’s talk about the benefits of good fats and what kinds are the best choices for your health. The main fat your body needs is omega-3 oils, commonly referred to as EFA’s. 95 % of Americans are deficient in these highly beneficial omega-3 oils. In fact, most Americans receive less than 10% of their daily requirements for omega-3 oils.

Fish is a great source of omega-3 rich fat, but not all fish is alike in quality. Never purchase or consume farm raised fish as it is likely contaminated with steroids, estrogen, pesticides, mercury, and other chemicals. Always choose fresh, wild-caught fish. But even then you must be wary about whether or not it is truly pure. You can also take fish oil capsules, but often companies don’t provide a pure product. I have found, along with many health care doctors and practitioners, that Carlson Labs produces high quality mercury-free cod liver oil and fish oil in liquid form and capsules. (There are of course other companies that also produce top quality products) Liquid is always best I feel as it is more readily absorbed into your body and more of the nutrients are also absorbed. But capsules can be beneficial as well.

Perhaps you were made to take cod liver oil when you were a child and hated the taste. I truly understand, but cod liver oil has many benefits for your body. As I matured in my understanding of what’s good and what isn’t, I am able to consume this product with ease and appreciation for what it does for my health. Different health advocates recommend different doses, anywhere from 1 teaspoon per day to 2 tablespoons per day. Listen to your body and decide for yourself by trying different amounts. It is especially important to ingest some daily when you are not out in the sun because it also contains the much needed vitamin D which many Americans also lack. Good news! Carlson makes lemon-flavored cod liver oil - a lot better than what grandma used to have!

Omega-3 oils consist of several parts. ALA, or Alpha-Linolenic Acid, is found in flax, hemp, canola, soy bean, dark green veggie leaves, and walnuts. In addition there are EPA and DHA oils which are found in cold water fish like tuna, salmon, mackerel, trout and sardines. The latter are the best source of omega-3’s because your body can directly use these without converting them. The ALA oils must convert within your body and most people do not have the proper enzymes to make the conversions due to stress and improper nutrition.

So why are these omega-3 oils so beneficial to you?

Baby scanning - baby ultrasound company

The method know as three dimensional ultrasound is used during early pregnancy, it provides 3d pictures of the fetus. Most times the ultrasound images are quickly collected and combined to created a 4d ultrasound scan.

Three dimensional scans works in the same manner to the normal ultrasound methods except that the ultrasound scanning pulses can be sent from many directions. The waves can be redirected back and captured and provide information to construct a 3d picture in very much the same way as 3d pictures. 3 dimesional ultrasound was devised by olaf ramm and stephen smith.

It’s important to understand that sonologists all over the world always conjured 3d images of the body in their minds whilst doing 2d scans. However, until recently it was not possible to do this kind of reconstruction on on data using ultasound scanning. With the advent of 4d baby scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the thinking of a sonologist and so letting us see the images on the ultrasound machine.

4d ultrasound imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. There is no data to suggest any harm due to 3d ultrasound, its use in none medical situations needs to be undertaken with an understanding of the risks involved.

The Vanishing Twin Syndrome

The Vanishing Twin Syndrome is personified by certain personality characteristics, gestational features and spiritual lessons. There is a higher incidence of this syndrome in healers. The theory is that if they could not save their own twin, their destiny is to dedicate themselves to saving others in the world. Do you have a vanishing twin?

Lawrence Wright’s article, Double Mystery published in the New Yorker, August 7, 1995 explained that one out of eighty or ninety live human births produces twins. With the advent of ultrasonography it has been determined that at least one-eighth of all natural pregnancies begin as twins. This is evident when the first ultrasound detects twins and the second one does not. So what happens to these twins? Often, one external sign of a vanishing twin is vaginal bleeding. Using emotional clearing, I often detect vanishing twins. It seems to be more common with people in “care-giving” fields. Here are some of the findings and similarities I have put together over the years with Vanishing Twin Syndrome patients:

Typical Personality Characteristics of the Surviving Twin:

Control Issues: The surviving twin often has control issues and it may be based on the premise that since they couldn’t control what happened in utero, they are doing everything in their power to do so now.

Survivor’s guilt: There is a lot of survivor’s guilt for taking the nutrition from the vanishing twin, not being able to help prevent the death of the twin and viewing this resorption process in utero. Once identifying this occurrence, the patient must go through the grieving process like in any death of someone that means a great deal to them. They experience loss, guilt, grief and anger at being separated from the twin. Sometimes the survivor does not care if they live or die and may occasionally have thoughts of suicide.

No competition: Survivors don’t usually like competitive sports unless they are competing against themselves. They subconsciously feel that if they compete with others, death may result. They want everyone to get along and work together.

Sabotaging relationships: Sabotaging happens when relationships start going too well. The superconscious/subconscious thinking is that if they get close to someone that they will be in danger and might die from the actions of the surviving twin. Because they love this person so much, they will push them away to protect them. They also seem to self-sabotage to make sure they have paid for what their role was that caused their twin to depart in utero.

Not deserving: The survivor often feels they don’t deserve all the good this world has to offer so they find ways to exclude themselves from receiving good. They are major givers, but not very accepting takers.

Money issues: These are motivated people. Because they do such good in the world, often money follows. The problem is that Vanishing Twins don’t seem to be able to hold onto the money because they self-sabotage. Survivor’s guilt prevents them from using the money for their own care. They give it away or let it flow through their hands, not keeping any of it for themselves.

Fascination with or friends with twins: Twins have a special energetic bonding with each other which lasts their entire lives. Just because your twin left you in utero, doesn’t break that energetic bond. And if you don’t feel your twin still around you, naturally you will be attracted to twin energy.

Feeling abandoned, left out, and excluded: These are the kids who get picked last for the team, who don’t make friends easily and feel like other’s can’t relate to what they are going through. They are searching for close relationships but can’t seem to find them. Often they would rather spend time with older people than kids their own age.

Low self-esteem, lack of self-love: This is one of the major Spiritual lessons that the survivor must work through before they can fully be the gift to the world that God intends. Low self esteem is intertwined with Unconditional Love of Self, Trust and Discernment, and Worthiness lessons. See handout on Spiritual Lessons for more on this.

Vanishing Twins are often in the Healing Field: Since they could not heal the situation in utero, they are intent on healing the world and saving others. There are lots of surviving twins who are massage therapists, doctors and nurses.

Vanishing Twins say or think, “I wish I could find somebody like me.”

Other Weird Stuff: I actually had one woman I was working on take out a picture from her wallet to show me who her vanishing twin was. She explained that she believed in reincarnation and that she somehow felt attached to this man. When I asked her if she had ever met the man she said she hadn’t, but that she felt compelled to cut his picture out and carry it around with her. At the time she had had the picture in her wallet for over two years.

How much do you know about your gestation and birth? The following items are clues in determining if you have a vanishing twin:

Trauma to the mother: Three to four months in utero is about the time the twin “checks out” and is being reabsorbed by the body. What are some causes? Some include getting hit in the stomach, car accidents, falling down a flight of stairs, emotional trauma, experiencing high fever from an illness, violent vomiting, etc.

Did your mother smoke? Studies show that smoking lowers the oxygen content of the blood so less oxygen is available to the fetus. Smoking is also associated with low birth weights. So does that mean there is less available nutrition for two fetuses?

History of twins in the bloodlines: Are there twins in the family? If so, there is a greater chance of repeating that within the same family lines.

Long labor: Here’s how this works–when you have one baby ready to come out, the placenta (the sac that contains the fetus) and the pituitary gland produce a certain amount of a hormone called oxytocin (also called pitocin). The function of oxytocin is to cause muscular contractions to push the baby out. So, if there are two babies, then there is a proportionately larger amount of oxytocin. But, if one of the fetuses dies, there is not enough oxytocin to push out the extra residual placenta associated with the dead fetus, and the birthing process takes much longer. These days, a cesarean section is performed when the shutdown occurs to take the stress off the fetus.

No ultrasound background: If you were born before the 60’s, most likely your mom did not have an ultrasound so twins could easily be missed. An x-ray was only rarely taken because we didn’t want to expose the baby to radiation unnecessarily.

Giving birth in a hospital before the 70’s: There used to be a time when doctors only gave their patient the information they thought they needed to know at the time. If the mother had a difficult birth or there was extra placenta or a resorbed fetal membranes, the doctor gave these to the nurse who disposed of them and did not tell the mother about it. I think midwives were a little more open to this miracle and included mothers in the information they gathered about their birthing and findings. Many midwives I’ve talked with have these placentas in their freezers and use them to educate other midwives about the process. Also, some midwives would save these extra placental tissues for the mother for a special burial ceremony later.

Many eggs released, few fertilized: A woman’s ovaries produce hundreds of thousands of eggs from the ovarian tissue over her reproductive lifetime. Only a few of these are released each month. It takes the influence of several million sperm surrounding the egg for one to finally penetrate the egg and fertilize it. It seems as we get older, that twins are more common. Maybe it’s our body’s last ditch effort to procreate.

Imperfections or improper nutrients reaching both feti: It would make sense that not every egg is perfect and not every sperm is perfect. When the imperfection is too great, problems can occur in regards to the available nutrition for one or both of the babies. When this happens, the fetus starves and is then resorbed back into the body. The remaining fetus then has enough nutrition to grow to full-term.

Do you have any dermoid cysts? This is a little tumor made of every conceivable type of cell from skin cells, hair cells, tooth cells and more. Evidence of a resorbed fetus or a vanishing twin? I think so.

Life Lessons associated with the Vanishing Twin Syndrome:

These are the typical issues that the surviving twin must work through to live a full, happy, and productive life. Although many other people without twins also have to work through these issues, I see these lessons every time with those who have a vanishing twin.

• I love and accept myself unconditionally.
• I am important and a gift to our world.
• I deserve all the good this world has to offer.
• I am worthy.
• I forgive myself.
• I forgive God/Jesus/My Higher Power.
• God loves me.

If you relate to some of this information, you may have a vanishing twin. I would recommend the article: Life in the Womb: Dangers and Opportunities by David B Chamberlain, Ph.D.
